I asked Kristy if I could share some photos I took of her during the time I stayed. I didn't want to point the camera at her the whole week, but the shots I did get sum up how things are for her right now.
In this first one she's sitting on the hay stack I mentioned here, gazing off in the distance waiting for me to take a photo of something that she thought wasn't her.
While I was there Kristy brought her laptop out of the cold back office into the very cosy wood heated lounge room. If she wasn't on the recliner with it, she was on the floor or standing at the sideboard. Sometimes, when she got a thoughtful email or a touching comment, the tiredness on her face would part way for a smile, or even a chuckle. She really is greatly blessed and encouraged by those who show they care by email or blog, whether they are near or far away.
Here are just some of the friends she talks about on her blog, gathered around and hanging out... Matt & Sal (the one in blue behind Kristy who, when this photo was taken, was about 10 days off giving birth to Ben) and Tracey & Simun (yes, he's the 'one in every group')! We're both blessed to have them in our 'family'.
To our fellow FIRST & CFBA book reviewers... notice those packed book shelves. There are more where they come from, believe me. I came home with so many books I want to read that I don't know if I'll ever get to write my own reviews for a very long time. At least not for a good few months - copy and paste's it'll have to be.
So, keep praying for Kristy and Steve's parents... and those you know who have lost loved ones. It's a testing time when the prayers and support of others make all the difference.
